Or Sri Lanka’s amazing Cultural Triangle which contains no fewer than seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, like Anuradhapura, location of one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, dating from the 4th century BC, and Sigiriya, an ancient palace and fortress complex that soars 200 metres above the surrounding jungle. It’s just breathtaking.

The Far East has a wealth of colonial hotspots where you can relive the days of the Raj. There’s Edwin Lutyens’ astonishing architectural vision in India’s New Delhi, created at the height of Empire.
